Sugary drinks are among the most fattening items, and they can lead to various non-communicable diseases (NCDs) like obesity, type 2 diabetes and heart diseases.
IT'S NOT JUST SODA!
Even those fruit, soy or malt drinks you have in your hand right now might be very sugary.
Sugary drinks are bad especially because you end up taking more calories than from solid foods. This is because your brain doesn't measure calories from liquid sugar the same way it does for solid foods.
100% unsweetened fruit juices are great.
But don't forget to eat raw fruits and vegetables, especially when you are not sure which brands of juices are not so sugary.
One thing you could do is to keep your fruit juice intake to 1 glass per day, and take as much of those vitamins and antioxidants you want from raw fruits and vegetables.
Also, don't forget water. It is a simple yet fantastic drink!
Some studies show it can increase metabolism, especially if it is taken before meals. Specifically, one study showed that drinking 500ml of water 30 minutes before each meal increased weight loss by 44%.
Let us keep ourselves healthy and avoid too much sugar in our body.
